Cindy Hoback - Breast Cancer Survivor

October 2, 2018

When Cindy Hoback was diagnosed with breast cancer, she didn’t know what it was going to entail. However, she made it a point to research Wake Forest Baptist Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Specialists in all areas of breast cancer, Karen Winkfield, MD, in radiation oncology, Marissa Howard-McNatt, MD, and Akiko Chiba, MD, in surgical oncology, and Alexandra Thomas, MD, in hematology and oncology, work together with pathologists, genetic counselors and mammographers to diagnose breast cancer as early as possible and provide a personalized treatment plan – all in one location.

Cindy Hoback considers herself blessed that her breast cancer was diagnosed early and that genetic testing at Wake Forest Baptist Health showed little likelihood of her cancer recurring.

Meet Breast Cancer Survivor Cindy Hoback

Thanks to early detection and the compassion and knowledge of her care team, Cindy Hoback is now cancer free. Inspired by her experience and the desire to help other cancer patients, Cindy and her family established Mimi’s Family Fund that supports breast cancer patients. The Hoback family, along with friends in their community, hold fundraisers in their community to continue the support.
