There is a good chance that a cancer diagnosis looks a little different for you. Cancer can disrupt major life milestones during this age range, like completing school, choosing a career path, building personal relationships, raising a family, and working toward emotional, social, and financial independence.
The AYA cancer program works to provide solutions for the challenges that AYA patients and survivors face along the cancer continuum.
What is an AYA?
- AYA is an acronym for Adolescent & Young Adult and is an individual diagnosed with cancer at ages 13-39.
- To improve health outcomes for adolescents and young adults with cancer throughout the region by providing person-centered care and reducing age-related health disparities through education and research.
If you're interested in connecting with resources, upcoming events, materials, patient advocacy, research, or peer mentoring opportunities through the AYA program, sign up here!
