Biography

I meet with patients in clinic and perform surgery at both our High Point and Winston-Salem locations. Like many Vascular Surgeons, the majority of my practice involves the evaluation and management of arterial aneurysms, carotid artery disease, lower extremity arterial disease, and the creation of vascular access for hemodialysis. I also manage less common conditions such as renal artery disease and mesenteric arterial disease. Additionally, I frequently assist our Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery colleagues when they need manipulation of large arteries and veins of the abdomen and pelvis in the context of performing certain spinal procedures. Vascular surgery often involves making complex decisions about difficult problems and I make a particular effort to inform patients about their condition and actively involve them in these management decisions. Many vascular conditions are managed perfectly well without surgery and I strive to be intentional and deliberate about reserving surgical intervention only for those situations for which it is clearly indicated.
