Biography

“I treat general dermatology conditions, such as acne and eczema, but I especially love to treat complex or autoimmune dermatologic conditions. Whether you have a pimple or a life-threatening disease, I’ll spend time thinking about your condition during your visit and after it. If necessary, we can work together to try new and innovative approaches.”

Dr. John Robert Edminister is board certified in dermatology. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

His clinical and translational research interests include dermatomyositis, lupus, pemphigus vulgaris, Hailey-Hailey disease and Darier disease.

Dr. Edminister received his medical degree at the University of Toledo. He completed residency at Wake Forest University, where he served as chief resident.

Outside of work, he loves spending time with his significant other, also a doctor, and his golden retriever, Piper. Dr. Edminister enjoys attending concerts with friends, relaxing with family and taking in the beautiful North Carolina outdoors, while always making sure he wears sunscreen and a hat.
