Biography
I am one of two Palliative Care Triage nurses here at Wake Forest Baptist Health. I work closely with the Palliative and Supportive Care interdisciplinary team to help ensure that each patient receives expert and timely consultative services from our group of highly trained and competent providers. With over 20 years of nursing experience, with the last ten years in Hospice and Palliative Care, I have gained valuable knowledge and insight into the healthcare disparities of our communities. I am passionate about educating the public and healthcare workers alike about the immense need for Palliative care throughout our community, and our nation, especially in the pediatric population which is incredibly underserved.
I am nationally certified in Hospice and Palliative Care and hold memberships in the North Carolina Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, National Partnership for Hospice Innovation, and NC Peds Palliative Care Coalition.
Several days each month I volunteer my nursing services for a free local medical clinic and I am very active in my church, holding several positions. In my free time, I enjoy singing, reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with my family.
