My area of specialty practice primarily involves serving as the lead speech-language pathologist on the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Along with other members of this interdisciplinary team, I provide care for patients with cleft lip and/or cleft palate or other craniofacial differences, the majority of whom live across the western part of North Carolina. This includes providing outpatient feeding evaluations during infancy and speech-language evaluations with specialized focus on articulation disorders specifically related to a history of cleft palate and speech resonance disorders throughout the period of craniofacial growth. I also provide general pediatric speech-language evaluations and pediatric modified barium swallow studies.
I received my master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and joined Wake Forest Baptist in 2008. I am a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and am a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA).
