Biography

“I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to receive a great education and learn to help fix people’s injuries and conditions.”

Dr. Stephen Lucey is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. Conditions he treats include sports injuries and knee problems, such as osteoarthritis and ligament injuries. He is skilled in joint replacement, partial and total knee replacement and knee arthroplasty.

As a child, he endured numerous sports injuries. The experiences of surgery and rehabilitation fascinated him and led to his career choice.

He is a clinical adjunct faculty member in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Dr. Lucey received his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest University and a fellowship in sports medicine at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute.

He is married with 3 children. Outside of work, Dr. Lucey enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and being active in the community.
