Biography

Dr. Jaclyn Martindale is board certified in neurology with a special qualification in child neurology.

She is the section head and medical director of pediatric neurology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and assistant professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Dr. Martindale is the founder and director of the Comprehensive Tic and Tourette Specialty Clinic at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

As a physician-scientist, Dr. Martindale specializes in pediatric movement disorders with clinical research focusing on Tourette syndrome. Her focus is on developing accessible behavioral interventions for Tourette syndrome to improve care for all. Specifically, she is studying these 3 aspects of Tourette syndrome: self-stigma, well-being and psychological distress.

Additionally, her collaborative research efforts investigating many aspects of Tourette syndrome include her roles in the Tourette Association of America and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Tic and Tourette Study Group.

Dr. Martindale also works regionally as the co-medical director at a summer camp for youth, Camp Twitch and Shout.

Dr. Martindale received her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in child neurology at the University of Rochester.
