Biography
Dr. Rebecca Lynn Omlor is board certified in hospice and palliative (symptom relief and end-of-life) medicine, internal medicine and geriatric medicine.
She is an assistant professor of gerontology and geriatric medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where she is the director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program. Her roles include serving as the core faculty communication and professionalism director for the Internal Medicine Residency program.
Her affiliations include the Sticht Center for Healthy Aging and Alzheimer’s Prevention, where she consults with inpatient staff and the palliative and supportive care at home program staff. Additionally, she is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Geriatrics Society.
Dr. Omlor received her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina and her medical degree at Wake Forest University. She completed residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest University, where she also completed fellowships in geriatrics and hospice and palliative medicine.
Outside of work, she can be found on any of the local greenways, in the mountains or gardening with her husband and son. When she’s not in nature, she likes to curl up and read a good mystery novel.
