Biography

“I chose to work in the field of orthopaedics to help improve the lives of patients. Results can be seen shortly after surgery. Quality of life can be dramatically improved, whether by fixing a hip fracture so a patient can walk or eliminating years of knee pain after a total knee replacement.”

Eileen Ronsheim is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in orthopaedics, including trauma, elective joint replacements, upper extremity conditions and foot and ankle surgeries. She also provides management of preoperative and postoperative orthopaedic patients.

She values being able to help reduce pain, improve the level of functioning and achieve increased mobility for her patients.

Ronsheim has been recognized as an Atrium Health Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) of the Year and has participated in the APP Leadership Academy through Atrium Health.

She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina and completed her family nurse practitioner training at Georgetown University.

Outside of work, Ronsheim enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children and chocolate Lab dog. Her favorite activities include gardening, vacationing around the U.S. and attending Wake Forest and UNC sporting events.
