Biography

I grew up in Belmont, NC. My mother is a retired teacher and my father is a retired veterinarian. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and am still an avid Wolfpack fan. I then went onto medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduating, I completed my general surgery residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health. I stayed at Wake Forest Baptist for a minimally invasive surgery fellowship and am happy to stay in the Wake Forest Baptist family and to now become part of the community in High Point.

My family is the most important thing to me. I spend most of my free time hanging out with them. I am a huge sports fan. I specifically keep up with the Carolina Panthers and NC State football/basketball/baseball.

I really believe in discussing all the options with the patient and helping them make an informed decision on how to proceed. I do not believe in pushing people into making a decision they are not comfortable with, as I want them to understand their disease as well as any surgery that I may recommend.
