Biography

My research focus involves exploring next-generation endovascular techniques for the management of critically ill patients. Specifically, the technology and therapies I am developing are aimed at the management of non-compressible truncal hemorrhage, as well as providing mechanical hemodynamic support across a range of conditions and shock states. Additionally, I am exploring strategies to automate aspects of critical care management, specifically fluid and medication delivery, to ultimately improve diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for critically ill patients. This body of research has been shaped in large part by my experiences as a United States Air Force vascular surgeon and is funded by several Department of Defense grants.

I have published numerous articles to date on related concepts in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Ultimately, my goal is to improve outcomes for critically ill patients and victims of trauma, both for our civilian population and for sick or wounded warfighters.
