What is Women's Health?
Our women’s health care team treats specific women’s health conditions, like periods and pregnancy. They can also treat conditions that can affect everyone, like heart disease and diabetes, with a unique understanding of how these conditions can affect women differently.

Obstetrics and Gynecology
Our OB/GYNs provide complete health care for women at every stage of life. This includes providing care during pregnancy, as well as for gynecologic problems and overall female reproductive health. Through yearly well-woman exams, breast health checks and other screenings, we help prevent and treat gynecological issues, while guiding you through all phases of womanhood.
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Since 1990, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has led the region in fertility care and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Our team includes board-certified reproductive endocrinologists, specialists in male infertility, highly trained nurses, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons and more. With our specialized team, the latest treatments and state-of-the-art labs on-site, we’re here to provide care and support for each family’s unique needs.
Maternal Fetal Medicine
Our exceptional high-risk pregnancy team includes maternal-fetal medicine specialists, genetic counselors and obstetric sonographers (prenatal ultrasound specialists). Our goal is to provide the highest level of individualized care for mothers and babies when a genetic condition or other complication occurs before, during or after pregnancy.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
Our gynecologic surgeons offer advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for complex non-cancerous gynecologic conditions. These alternatives allow for less pain, smaller incisions, easier recovery, and a quicker return to normal activities. They can also help treat and manage endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain conditions.
Urogynecology
Our urogynecology team specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the female pelvic floor and bladder, such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. With expertise and the most advanced treatment options, we help women find relief, manage their condition and restore their quality of life.
Gynecologic Oncology
As an integral part of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, our gynecologic oncologists provide the full range of care for patients with cancers of the female reproductive system. This includes cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar cancers. Treatment often consists of a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, including minimally invasive options.
