The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Center is to provide the best possible treatment for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS), support for their family members, and education for the community and community-based physicians.
We provide specialized clinical expertise and wide-ranging medical, mental health and rehabilitation services for people with MS. Because of this specialization, the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is designated as a Comprehensive Center of Care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Caring for Patients with Multiple Sclerosis
The Multiple Sclerosis Center at Wake Forest Baptist focuses on the comprehensive management of MS.
Our goal is to treat patients with MS in a way that will provide them and their families a lifestyle optimized for functional independence.
Medical treatments aimed at decreasing disease progression are used alongside therapies directed at minimizing spasticity, pain, fatigue and other symptoms.
Our Center offers all approved treatments for MS including the latest oral and IV infusion therapies. Patients receive comprehensive evaluations of their disease and have access to physical, occupational, recreational and speech therapists along with psychologists and complementary medicine practitioners. In addition, the Center offers programs in meditation and yoga instruction funded by the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
