Our pediatric ophthalmologist team at Brenner Children’s treats a variety of eye disorders including: strabismus, retinopathy of premature infants, ocular and orbital tumors. We also care for ocular and orbital trauma in children.
We have one of the largest and fastest growing pediatric ophthalmology practices in North Carolina. From glasses prescriptions to advanced eye surgery, we care for children from birth to age 18. Our pediatric ophthalmologists are eye muscle experts. That’s why they also treat adults with eye muscle disorders, such as strabismus (crossed eyes).
We make exams as easy as possible, with toys and videos to make children feel at home, and diagnostic imaging devices specialized for children. We provide the latest specialty eye care treatments available, and are actively researching new methods for treating pediatric cataracts and strabismus. As part of the national Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, we offer trials not available at other eye centers.
The pediatric ophthalmologists perform a variety of pediatric eye surgeries, with support from expert pediatric anesthesiologists at Brenner Children’s. Most procedures are outpatient procedures and take one hour or less.
