Club Independence is an interactive Recreation Therapy program providing education, recreation and overall health and wellness opportunities for individuals with disabling conditions. With community involvement, Club I will address ways for members to enhance their quality of life. Club I assists members to return to the community and/or the recreational activities that they once enjoyed.
Club Independence offers a schedule full of activities which may include:
- Educational sessions
- Cultural activities
- Guest speakers
- Community outings
- Volunteer opportunities
- Group exercise classes
- Seasonal activities
- Cooking classes
- Arts/crafts classes
This program is facilitated by Licensed Recreation Therapists.
Partial scholarships are available upon completion of a Financial Assistance Application. Pre-registration is required.
Club I meets two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays offering recreation opportunities to meet social and fitness needs.
Membership Criteria
- Adults who are 18 years of age or older
- Adults who are independent with their activities of daily living and medical management
- Adults who have had a: CVA, SCI, MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, any other Neurological Disorder, Amputee, Mental Health Disorders such as Depression or Anxiety
