The Center for Fertility, Endocrinology and Menopause features state-of-the-art embryology and andrology laboratory facilities.
Our laboratory is equipped with the latest microscopes, micromanipulators, incubators, monitoring, video, and other equipment necessary to perform delicate procedures such as embryo culturing, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, assisted hatching, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and others.
The embryology laboratory is the only one in the region capable of performing PGD locally. This procedure allows us to diagnose many genetic diseases, such as Tay-Sachs disease, sickle cell anemia, Down’s syndrome, and others in the embryo prior to its placement into the uterus during an in vitro fertilization cycle.
The andrology laboratory provides semen analyses for physicians throughout the area. We have extensive experience evaluating the many subtle semen characteristics that can often signal male infertility.
Male infertility is present in a third of infertile couples and should always be ruled out early in the evaluation. A reproductive medicine laboratory is best equipped to rule out male infertility.
