Non-Essential Surgeries, Procedures, and Ambulatory Appointments to be Rescheduled
Tuesday, March 17, 2020 | 4:30 pm
Effective Wednesday, March 18, Wake Forest Baptist Health is rescheduling non-essential surgeries, procedures and ambulatory appointments. Any emergency and essential services will continue uninterrupted.
Rescheduling these appointments will minimize the risk to our patients, visitors, and health care providers. It also allows each health care system to conserve critical resources and focus care on those that need it most.
Patients who fall into this category will receive communication from their health care provider with further instructions. If patients have specific questions, they should reach out to their health care provider to understand how this decision will impact their appointment or procedure.
Hospital Visitor Restrictions
To help control the spread of respiratory illnesses such as COVID-19, we have expanded hospital visitor restrictions and are asking those who are not immediate family members to avoid visiting patients unless absolutely necessary - even if visitors are healthy and regardless of their age.
Previously implemented visitor restrictions for children age 12 and under remain in effect.
Clinic Visitor Restrictions
We have also added clinic visitor restrictions. If necessary, only one family member/support person who is healthy – free from fever, cough, cold or stomach virus symptoms – may accompany a patient to their appointment, including the waiting area. Families who encounter special situations should contact the clinic directly.
Volunteer Restrictions
Volunteer opportunities at all Wake Forest Baptist Health locations are temporarily suspended. We appreciate our volunteers and everything they do for our patients, guests and staff and look forward to welcoming them back when restrictions are lifted.
Vendor Policy Updates
We are asking vendors if their physical presence is not critical for the needs of our patients and staff, please do not come to any of our facilities. If necessary and possible, please communicate by phone or email. Learn more.
