“If you have any symptoms of a stroke, it is best to call 911 and get to the hospital as soon as possible,” said Priscilla Johnson, stroke survivor.
While enjoying her day running errands, Priscilla stopped to get a pedicure. The pedicurist noticed something wasn’t quite right and called 911. Priscilla was having a stroke. She was not able to talk or move her right side. She was rushed to the emergency department at Wake Forest Baptist Health where they were able to administer the clot busting drug – which saved Priscilla’s life.
Within hours of having a stroke, Priscilla regained consciousness and feeling on her right side and was back to her normal self. The Comprehensive Stroke Center at Wake Forest Baptist Health has 5 board-certified stroke specialists and is available 24-7 for emergency stroke patients.
