2024-2025 Pharmacy Residency Recruitment Plan
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Graduate Pharmacy Education is excited for the 2024-2025 residency recruitment cycle. During this year’s interview process, we will offer both onsite and virtual interviews for our residency programs. All applications to our programs will be reviewed solely on the merits of the application. If a candidate is invited for an interview with one of our residency programs, the Residency Program Director will work with each candidate based on their preference for interviewing: either onsite or virtual. We understand there are many variables for each candidate to consider in deciding what is the best interview process. We can offer great experiences for candidates to learn about our programs both onsite and virtually.
*Note: The PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency program will only host interviews virtually.
If you are interested in learning about our programs before ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition, please attend one of our virtual information sessions.

Graduate Pharmacy Education Residency Training Programs
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Graduate Pharmacy Education offers a wide range of learning opportunities across our health-system. These experiences include postgraduate year one and two residency programs, an applied informatics fellowship, an internship for pharmacy students, longitudinal advanced pharmacy practice experiences, and introductory pharmacy practice experiences.
Our residency programs include 25 residents across 12 diverse programs. These programs align under the same mission to provide a dynamic, goal-oriented environment, founded on the core experiences required to develop well-rounded clinical experts, practice researchers, educators and enterprise leaders. We are committed to adhering to regulations and standards set forth by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Our programs are designed with a variety of experiences to develop confidence, knowledge and skill sets necessary to become autonomous medication management experts. In addition, numerous longitudinal expectations allow residents to experience interdisciplinary teamwork, pharmacy operations, pharmacy practice management, medication strategy and process improvement. We place every resident’s professional objectives at the center of their training, thereby enabling them to excel in their career choice.
Pharmacy residents at Wake Forest Baptist are an integral part of a large pharmacy team and progressive group of pharmacy leaders who provide comprehensive pharmacy services throughout the health-system to improve the health outcomes of our patients and communities. We aim to instill and foster a passion for excellence in the practice of pharmacy, compassion for patient care, and leadership in innovation.
