Biography

“I pride myself on building strong, multidisciplinary relationships with the goal of optimizing patient care. I lead a talented group of interventional radiologists to provide exceptional care, research and education within a world-class health system.”

Dr. Miller is board certified in interventional and diagnostic radiology. He specializes in vascular malformations (blood vessels), critical limb ischemia (blood supply deficiencies), venous disease, palliative procedures, vertebral compression fractures and treatments for lung and kidney cancers using ablation techniques.

He performs a wide range of interventional radiology procedures. These include embolizations to treat blood vessel conditions, balloon angioplasties, stenting, placement of Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts (TIPS), vertebral cement augmentations, thermal ablations (tissue removal) and injections of therapeutic medications into image-targeted regions of the body.

As the director of interventional radiology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, his role includes building the clinical practice to become a comprehensive service that addresses the multiple needs of interventional patients and their referring physicians.

Dr. Miller is an associate professor of radiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His areas of interest also include kidney and lung cancers, venous and gynecologic conditions, vascular malformations and critical limb ischemia.

Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University. He received his medical degree at Hahnemann University, now part of Drexel University. He completed residency in diagnostic radiology at Duke University, where he also completed a fellowship in interventional radiology. He is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology.
