There are many ways to support Wake Forest Baptist's patient care. Gifts of all sizes allow us to investigate and pursue exciting medical partnerships, recruit the best and brightest clinicians and scientists, conduct groundbreaking research projects, educate the next generation of health care professionals to the highest standards in medicine, and provide exceptional care to our patients.
Generosity comes in many forms, and however you choose to give makes a difference in the lives of others. We are deeply grateful to you.
Alumni of Wake Forest School of Medicine can show their support by becoming active members in the Medical Alumni Association (MAA).
Sustained by gifts from MD alumni, parents, house staff alumni, friends, organizations, corporations and foundations, the MAA Annual Fund meets the school's priority needs as determined by the dean and administrators.
Wake Forest’s School of Medicine admits students without regard to their financial circumstances. By doing so, we can enroll the most talented people from all walks of life, creating a diverse community that mirrors the world around us.
Once admitted, the School works with students and their families to find a financial aid package that could include scholarship grants, work-study opportunities, loans, and student and family contributions.
Scholarship endowment is another critical way to keep higher education and the health care field open to deserving students. Through an endowed scholarship, donors can:
- Permanently honor the person whose name it bears
- Influence the quality of and accessibility to medical care for this and future generations
- Inspire philanthropy in others

Every gift to Wake Forest Baptist Health is important, no matter how large or small. Each year, we receive gifts from our community members, patients and alumni in support of Wake Forest Baptist’s mission – to improve health.
As a nonprofit academic medical center, Wake Forest Baptist uses charitable gifts to further our efforts to offer compassionate patient care, innovative research and exceptional medical education. Gifts may be directed to a specific area of interest within the medical center or unrestricted, meaning they support the areas of greatest need.
Your contribution is more than charitable giving – it is a meaningful investment in the life-saving care, research and education that our patients and community need now and in the years ahead.
Planned giving helps you achieve your goal of making a difference in the manner that is most beneficial to you. Some planned gifts provide lifelong income to the donor; others use estate- and tax planning to maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor’s estate. Popular ways to give include:
- Provision for Wake Forest Baptist in a will or living trust
- Designating Wake Forest Baptist Health or Wake Forest School of Medicine as the beneficiary of an insurance policy
- Charitable gift annuities
- Charitable remainder trusts
- Real estate
- Endowed gifts

The dedicated team at Wake Forest Baptist Health prides itself in bringing compassion to every health care experience. One of the most meaningful ways our patients and their loved ones express their gratitude is by honoring caregivers who provide truly compassionate care – care that is supportive, respectful and kind.
If you have a caregiver who smiles, listens and knows you – as a person, not an illness – honor them today with a gift to the area your choice at Wake Forest Baptist. By donating to Wake Forest Baptist, grateful patients express their appreciation while offering more individuals the opportunity to experience compassionate care.
You can honor the memory of a loved one by giving the gift of hope and love with a contribution to Wake Forest Baptist Health. You may designate your gift to support a specific program or the area of greatest need.
