Clifford Howard, MD

Dr. Howard is board certified in diagnostic radiology with a special competence in vascular and interventional radiology. He focuses on breast diseases, including abscesses, mastitis, bone cancers and chronic venous occlusions (vein conditions).

He performs abscess drainage and management, chemoembolizations (treatments for tumors), kyphoplasties (bone restorations), angioplasty and stenting treatments (to unblock arteries), bone and soft tissue biopsies with CT guidance and fluid aspirations with ultrasound and thrombolysis (to break up clots).

Dr. Howard is a clinical associate professor of radiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His research interests include the development of innovative medical devices and those to assist with breast biopsies.

Dr. Howard completed his undergraduate studies at Howard University and received his medical degree at East Carolina University. He completed residency in radiology and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
