Ryan Cory Maves, MD

I am an infectious disease and critical care physician at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. I have the honor of working with our transplant and cancer care teams here at Wake Forest to provide the best possible care for our patients with compromised immune systems, both treating and preventing infections. I also work in the intensive care units at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center, caring for critically-ill patients with respiratory failure and shock.

My research includes clinical trials for vaccines and therapeutics for infectious diseases and disaster preparedness during public health emergencies. I spent 22 years on active duty in the U.S. Navy prior to joining the team at Wake Forest, with deployments to Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, and the North Arabian Sea, as well as overseas service in South America.
