Critical Result Notification
Wake Forest Baptist Health Diagnostic Laboratories will immediately notify the practice who requested a test when any result indicates an imminent, life-threatening condition. This practice complies with CLIA regulation 493.1109 (f). Critical values of certain tests will be reported immediately by phone to the client who ordered the test, regardless of the time of day.
Infectious Material
We treat all specimens as though they are infectious in order to safeguard the health of our employees. Our safety protocols adhere to guidelines provided by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Services, and we have written exposure control plans in place.
Ordering Physician Contact Information
In order to ensure all tests are conducted in a timely fashion, please include the ordering physician's name and phone number on all requests. This will allow us to contact the physician if needed to clarify requested services, interpret a test result or request any other information that may be needed to complete the test.
