Manager of Athletic Training Services - Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
Christopher Ina is the Manager of Athletic Training Services for Wake Forest Baptist Health. He has been a proud athletic trainer for 18 years, spending most of those years working on the Sports Medicine team at Wake Forest University. He has been a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) Certified Athletic Trainer, and licensed in the state of North Carolina.
Chris manages all aspects of the outreach athletic training program for the Medical Center. WFBH partners with 27 local high schools across the region to provide outreach athletic training services for their student athletes.
Chris’s main responsibilities as Manager of Athletic Training Services is helping to develop and grow the outreach program to new school districts and contract development. He also works closely with marketing team to help promote the outreach athletic training services program and the profession of athletic training to the community. His other duties involve budget management, interviewing and hiring new staff, policy development, and other administrative duties.
A native of Westlake, Ohio, Chris graduated from the University of Toledo in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training. In 2002, he received his master’s degree in Sports Administration from California State University, Fresno. While a part of Fresno State athletics as a graduate assistant, he assisted the sports medicine staff in providing coverage for the football squad.
Christopher began his athletic training career at Wake Forest University, where he spent 13 years as an assistant athletic trainer for the football and tennis teams. While at WFU, he worked on a personal basis with Demon Deacon athletes in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries on a daily basis throughout the entire year. He has spent the past 5 years with Wake Forest Baptist Heath to helping to create, manage, and grow the outreach athletic training program.

Athletic Training Coordinator - Guilford County Region
Ian Mushinski is the Athletic Training Coordinator for the Guilford County, North Carolina region. He oversees the athletic training partnerships for both public and private school throughout Guilford County. He also is the main point of contact for the athletic training staff assigned to the region. He has been a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) Certified Athletic Trainer for more than 20 years, and licensed in the state of North Carolina.
Ian is from Eden, North Carolina. He graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University, in Marion Indiana in 1998, where he was a member of the wildcat soccer team. He received this Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, while working as a graduate assistant with their football and softball programs. He has worked throughout the Piedmont Triad in all areas of athletic training and has developed an extensive professional network of physicians, surgeons, and athletic trainers.
Ian brings a wide variety of experience in athletic training to the department. He served as Head Athletic Trainer for Southwest Guilford high school from 2000-2005. In 2005, Ian became a part of Motor Racing Outreach, where he coordinated and later directed the athletic training and sports medicine program within NASCAR managing care for drivers, crews, and officials. Most recently, Ian served as the Head Athletic Trainer and Program Director at Winston-Salem State University, in Winston-Salem, NC.

Athletic Training Coordinator - Forsyth County Region
Jessica Herman is the athletic training coordinator for the Forsyth County market, where she oversees 14 high school athletic trainers. She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and Licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners since 2003.
Jessica was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2003 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She went on to get her Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2005. Jessica also became a licensed massage and bodywork therapist in 2006.
Upon graduation from East Carolina, Jessica was an outreach athletic trainer in Guilford County, and a clinical athletic trainer for a local orthopaedic clinic. Also, she was the head athletic trainer for a semi-professional hockey team based out of Winston-Salem, NC. She joined the Wake Forest Baptist Health team in 2011 and was to the be the head athletic trainer at Parkland High School for the previous nine years.
She was recently promoted to Athletic Training Coordinator for the Forsyth County region. She oversees the athletic training partnerships for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and Yadkin school districts. She also is the main point of contact for the athletic training staff assigned to the region.

Head Athletic Trainer - West Wilkes High School
Eric Maggio is the Athletic Training Coordinator for the Wilkes Market. He manages the athletic training partnerships of Wilkes County Schools, Alleghany and Mount Airy City Schools. Additionally, Eric is the head athletic trainer at West Wilkes High School in Millers Creek, North Carolina. He is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Eric is from Statesville, North Carolina. He graduated from East Carolina University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training. He was a member of the student athletic training program and club, a letterman in Athletic Training as well as member of the ECU waterski team.
Upon graduation from East Carolina University, Eric held a Physical Therapy Technician position with Lake Norman Medical Center in Mooresville, NC. After two years he moved into the role of Head Football Athletic Trainer for Averett University in Danville, Virginia. Prior to joining the Wake Forest Baptist Health team, Eric worked at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, NC for seventeen years in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department. During his time with DRMC, Eric enhanced his skills in outpatient/inpatient physical therapy, aquatic therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise testing and an athletic training outreach program for several local high school and Christian Schools.

Head Athletic Trainer - High Point Christian Academy, High Point, NC
Morgen Wade is assigned to High Point Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina. Morgen is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Morgen is from Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from NC Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T) in 2010 with her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition. After working two years in nutrition she went back to school and obtained a Bachelors in Kinesiology in 2014 and a Masters in Athletic Training in 2016 from The University of NC at Greensboro (UNCG). During this time, she was also a Junior Olympic Club volleyball coach for girls 13 to 16 year olds.
Morgen began her career in Athletic Training with Wake Forest Baptist Health. Her first position was as a clinical athletic trainer working alongside Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Steve Lucey, at Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement (SMJR) in Greensboro NC. At SMJR she served as a liaison for athletic training services in the community and provided athletic training services for Caldwell Academy in Greensboro, NC. Currently, she is the Head Athletic Trainer at High Point Christian Academy and continues to be a vital member of the Wake Forest Baptist Health Athletic Training staff.

Head Athletic Trainer - Southwest Guilford High School, High Point, NC
Liam Buckley is assigned to Southwest Guilford High School in High Point, North Carolina. He is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Liam was born and raised in England. Upon arriving in the states, he attended Greensboro College where he was the 3-time captain of the Men’s soccer team. He helped lead the Lion’s to a USA South Athletic Conference tournament title and a berth in the NCAA tournament. He was named a member of the USA South Athletic Conference First Team in 2013 & 2015. He graduated from Greensboro College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training.
Prior to joining the WFBH team, Liam was the Head Athletic Trainer at High Point Christian Academy and a clinical athletic trainer at a local orthopaedic clinic. He also worked as an Athletic Trainer for the NC Fusion U23’s (formally Carolina Dynamo) for two summers, working with some of state’s top collegiate soccer players. He also works part time for North Carolina Youth Soccer Association as an Athletic Trainer, covering events such as State Cup and the Olympic Development Program.

Athletic Trainer - NC Fusion Soccer Club
Ariana Chambers is assigned to the NC Fusion Soccer Club and is a clinical trainer at Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement (SMJR) in Greensboro, NC. She is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Ariana grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and attendee RJ Reynolds High School. During this time, she played soccer at the high school level and various club teams. She went on to attend Seton Hall University in New Jersey. There she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Athletic Training. She is excited to be back in North Carolina to begin her athletic training career, helping patients stay healthy and reach their goals.

Head Athletic Trainer - T. Wingate Andrews High School, High Point, NC
Allivia Chisholm is assigned to T. Wingate Andrews High School in High Point, North Carolina. She is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Allivia is from Lynchburg, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2015 with her Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science (HPEX), with a concentration in Exercise Science. She later attended Lynchburg College (University of Lynchburg) and graduated in May 2018, with her Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
Upon graduation from Lynchburg College, Allivia worked at Southeastern Orthopedics in Greensboro, NC as an athletic trainer. She assisted in the physical therapy department with patient rehabilitation, provided athletic training outreach services for surrounding high schools in Guilford County, and assisted with medical coverage for special events at the Greensboro Coliseum and Aquatic Center. Prior to her current assignment, Allivia was the clinical athletic trainer at our Proehlific Park orthopaedic clinic in Greensboro, NC.

Head Athletic Trainer - High Point Central High School, High Point, NC
Nova Woodard is assigned to High Point Central High School in High Point, North Carolina. She also works as a Registered Orthopedic Technologist, assisting physicians with casting and bracing at Wake Forest Baptist Health - Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in High Point, North Carolina. Nova is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina. As well as certified through ASOP (American Society of Orthopedic Professionals).
Nova is from Colfax, North Carolina. Her interest in athletic training began where she lettered in Sports Medicine in high school in 2003. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science, concentration Sports Medicine. In 2008 she warned her Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
Upon graduation from UNCG, she began her career as a clinic and outreach athletic trainer with Cornerstone Health. She has been working the duel position at Wake Forest Baptist Health- Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and at High Point Central as the Head Athletic Trainer since May 2008. She is a HPCHS Bison at heart and loves her career. Additionally, she has been teaching and mentoring further athletic trainers for High Point University since 2009 as a preceptor for their Masters in Athletic Training degree program.

Head Athletic Trainer - Ragsdale High School, Jamestown, NC
Tazjanne’ Fields is assigned to Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, North Carolina. Tazjanne’ is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Taz is from Rockingham, NC. She graduated from Winston Salem State University (WSSU) in Winston-Salem, NC in 2012 with her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Sports Medicine. At WSSU, she was a member of the Honors Program and a Student Athletic Trainer for multiple CIAA Championship teams. In 2014, she graduated from Florida International University (FIU) with her Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
Upon graduation from FIU, Taz moved backed to the Piedmont Triad working as an athletic trainer for Thomasville High School in Thomasville, NC. She was the school’s first athletic trainer and helped to develop the athletic training program by building it from the ground up. She spent five years at Thomasville High School prior to joining the Wake Forest Baptist team.

Athletic Trainer - Wesleyan Christian Academy, High Point, NC
Brandy Cardwell is assigned part-time to High Point Orthopedics and part-time to Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, North Carolina. Brandy is NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the state of North Carolina.
Brandy is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington in 2016 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with her Master’s degree in Health Promotion with a concentration in Rehabilitation.
Upon graduation from UNCW, she took a full-time position with Select Physical Therapy in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this position, Brandy was able to do outreach athletic training work with the Carolina Panthers. Before coming to Wesleyan Christian Academy, Brandy was the athletic trainer at Concord First Assembly Academy and Covenant Day School. She has done outreach for Wake Forest Baptist Health Sports Medicine since February 2019.

Kianna is from Reidsville, North Carolina. She graduated from Greensboro College in 2017 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She was also a member of the Women’s Basketball, Soccer and Lacrosse teams while at Greensboro College. Three of those years she was an academic All-American for the USA South Athletic Conference.
Before coming to Wake Forest Baptist Health, Kianna worked at T.W Andrews High School in Jamestown, NC as their Athletic Trainer and teaching Sports Medicine and Freshman Focus.

Head Athletic Trainer - Parkland High School, Winston-Salem, NC
T’Keyah Hargrave is assigned to Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Keyah is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and Licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners since 2014.
T’Keyah was raised in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Greensboro College receiving her Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Nutrition from Concordia University in Chicago.
T’Keyah has worked as a high school athletic trainer since 2014. Before coming to Wake Forest Baptist Health, she was the head athletic trainer at Eastern Guilford High School and assisted in an orthopeadic clinic. In 2017 T’Keyah was honored with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Elton Hawley Secondary Schools Medical Professional/Athletic Trainer of the Year award.
T’Keyah enjoys playing soccer and being active, in her free time. T’Keyah is extremely excited to be a part of the Sports Medicine team at Wake Forest Baptist Health and work as the Athletic Trainer at Parkland High School.

Head Athletic Trainer— Carver High School, Winston-Salem, NC
Megan Cater is assigned to Carver High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Megan is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Megan is from Smithfield, NC. She attended North Carolina A&T State University in 2009 and then later transferred to Greensboro College in 2010. She graduated from Greensboro College in 2014 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She was also a proud member of the softball team at Greensboro College.
Upon graduation from Greensboro College, Megan was hired as the full-time athletic trainer at Carver High School. She went on to become an employee of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center while maintaining employment at Carver High School through the partnership between Winston-Salem Forsyth County School Systems and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Head Athletic Trainer - Mount Tabor High School, Winston-Salem, NC
Robert Hatch is assigned to Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Robert is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Robert is from Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte(UNCC) in 2014 with his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. While at UNCC, he spent time working with the athletic departments at Davidson College, Johnson C. Smith University, and local high schools as a student athletic trainer.
Upon graduation, Robert worked as the athletic trainer at North Buncombe High School and Middle School, in Asheville, NC for three years. Additionally, he assisted with various UNC-Asheville athletics including, men's rugby, and collegiate club teams in the area. In 2017, he became the head athletic trainer at Christ School in Asheville, NC, before joining the team at Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2018.
Robert has a large interest in lacrosse, both the physical aspects, as well as, the safety aspects of the sport. He has hosted seminars demonstrating the protocol for helmet removal of various types of lacrosse helmets in case of emergency.

Head Athletic Trainer - Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, Winston-Salem, NC
Carla Parker is assigned to Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Carla is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Carla is from Browns Summit, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2014 with her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She went on to graduate from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with her Master’s degree in Athletic Training. While at Bloomsburg Carla had the opportunity to work at The United Stated Military Academy at West Point with their concussion management program. The program is partnered with the DOD/NCAA care consortium which is the largest concussion and repetitive head injury study in the US which launched in 2014.
After graduating from Bloomsburg, Carla joined the WFBH Sports Medicine team in March of 2018 as a PRN athletic trainer and assisted with athletic training coverage needs at all 12 high schools in Forsyth County. Six month later, she accepted the position as Head Athletic Trainer at Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy in Winston-Salem, NC.

Head Athletic Trainer - North Forsyth High School, Winston-Salem, NC
Kenya Smith is assigned to North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kenya is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina. She also holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Kenya is from Gibsonville, North Carolina. She graduated from Catawba College in 2016 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She then received her Master degree in 2018 from California University of Pennsylvania where she studied Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Science.
In 2018, Kenya began her career in athletic training as an intern athletic trainer at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. She provided care for both the track & field teams and the award winning Aggie Band. Before joining Wake Forest Baptist Health, she spent a brief time working with Pivot Physical therapy in Charlotte, NC assisting with patient care.

Eric Streich is assigned to Walkertown High School in Walkertown, NC. Eric is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina. He also holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Eric is originally from Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2012 with his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He moved to North Carolina to attend graduate school at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and graduated in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Athletic Training.
In 2014, Eric was the athletic trainer for Providence Grove High School in Climax, NC. He also worked at an orthopaedic clinic as an athletic trainer. Before joining the Wake Forest Baptist Health team in 2018, he worked at Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Thomasville, NC as a physician extender for 2 years.

Head Athletic Trainer - Ronald Reagan High School, Pfafftown, NC
Meg Greene is assigned to Ronald Reagan High School in Pfafftown, North Carolina. She is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Meg is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Emory & Henry College, where she was a member of the Cross Country and Track teams. While at Emory & Henry College, she presented research she collected on Tendinopathy’s in 2018. Additionally, she was involved in the Athletic Training Study Abroad program in 2019. She graduated for Emory & Henry College in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training.
After graduation, Meg traveled to Salinas, Puerto Rico where she was the head Athletic Trainer for the Puerto Rican Collegiate Baseball League. Before starting with Wake Forest Baptist Health, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at Trinity High School, in Asheboro, NC.

Head Athletic Trainer - R. B. Glenn High School, Kernersville, NC
Candace Morales is assigned to R. B. Glenn High School, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. As the Athletic Trainer at Glenn High School, Candace is responsible for over 600 student athletes with 31 teams.
Candace is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and Licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners since 2013. She is a part of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association, and North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association.
Candace earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May of 2013. She completed her graduate school at Fresno Pacific University, Fresno, California. She earned her Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training in July of 2016.
At Livingstone College, Candace provided coverage for all of Livingstone College varsity athletic teams, while her primary independent sporting assignment is women’s basketball. She also oversaw many administrative duties involving athletic training and athletics.
During Candace’s free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys being outside and watching her son grow and learn. Candace is extremely excited to be a part of the Wake Forest Baptist Health Sports Medicine team and work as an Athletic Trainer at R. B. Glenn High School.
Head Athletic Trainer - Starmount High School, Booneville, NC
Tori Howard is assigned to Starmount High School in Booneville, North Carolina. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and Licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners since 2017. She is a proud member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association, and North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association.
Tori is originally from LaGrange, North Carolina. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2017 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. Upon graduation, Tori became the Athletic Trainer at James B. Hunt High School in Wilson, North Carolina where she taught Sports Medicine and was the faculty advisor for the student Athletic Training Club. Tori recently earned her Master’s in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University in 2019.
Tori is proud to be a Starmount Ram and is excited to continue develop the Sports Medicine program at Starmount High School.

Head Athletic Trainer - East Forsyth High School, Kernersville, NC
Rick Metzler is assigned to East Forsyth High School, in Kernersville, NC. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification and Licensed through the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners since 2017.
Rick earned a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology/Sports Medicine and a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He began his career working at the collegiate level with both North Carolina A&T State University, as well as, the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He has been providing athletic training services for Wake Forest Baptist Health since 2017, beginning at Mount Tabor High School, in Winston-Salem, NC, before transferring to East Forsyth High School in July 2018.
Rick is a Certified CPR Instructor through the American Heart Association. He is also a dedicated preceptor to athletic training students from both, High Point University and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. As a preceptor, he is tasked with the mentoring/instruction of both University's assigned students from their Masters of Athletic Training program.

Head Athletic Trainer - Atkins High School, Winston-Salem, NC
Katie Hanes-Romano is one of the seasoned veterans of the Wake Forest Baptist Health Athletic Training Outreach Program. She currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer at Atkins High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Katie is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
A native North Carolinian, Katie graduated from Greensboro College with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. To further her education, she attended California University of Pennsylvania and earned a master’s degree in Sport Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration and finally earned her Doctor of Athletic Training degree from Temple University.
Katie has spent much of her career working with athletes across all levels of sport, from youth to professional athletes. She joined the WFBH Outreach program in 2017 after spending eight years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her nearly 15-year career, she has also worked with orthopedic surgeons as well as in a physical therapy clinic. Her diverse resume and knowledge base make her a valuable member of the WFBH team.

Head Athletic Trainer - RJ Reynolds High School, Winston-Salem, NC
Brooke Corley is a valuable member of our team. She is assigned to R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and has been with the school since February of 2017. Brooke is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Brooke is from Wingate, North Carolina. She graduated from Methodist University in 2013 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She was also a member of the Women’s Soccer team at Methodist. She was named Methodist Scholar Athlete and USA South Academic All-Conference all four years of her collegiate career.
Upon graduation from Methodist, Brooke took a 6-month internship at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida working as an Athletic Trainer. Before coming to R.J. Reynolds High School, Brooke worked at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, NC for one and a half years. After leaving Seventy-First, she spent two years working at Southeastern Orthopedics in Greensboro, NC as a physical therapy technician.

Head Athletic Trainer - Mount Airy High School, Mount Airy, NC
Patrick O’Neal is assigned to Mount Airy High School, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. He is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
A native of Dobson, Patrick earned a Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University in 2008. While a student, he worked for two years with primarily football, wrestling and women’s soccer. He then earned a Master’s degree from The Citadel in 2010.
In 2010, Patrick started as an assistant athletic trainer at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina for five years. While at Wofford, he provided medical coverage for the football team, along with both the baseball and track and field teams. Previously to transferring to Mount Airy High School, he was the head athletic trainer at West Forsyth High School, in Clemmons, NC. While at West Forsyth High School, he built one of the strongest athletic training programs in the county.

Head Athletic Trainer - Wilkes Central High School
Grant Yarbrough is assigned to Wilkes Central High School in Wilkesboro, NC. Grant is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) athletic trainer and is licensed by the state of North Carolina.
Grant is from Mebane, NC and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a minor in history. He then went on to graduate with his Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro in 2018.
He accepted his current position at Wake Forest Baptist Health in July 2018, and with his assignment at Wilkes Central he became the first certified athletic trainer in the history of the school. In that time Grant has cemented himself as a valuable asset to the student-athletes there, ensuring they all have access to high quality sports medicine care.

Head Athletic Trainer - East Wilkes High School
Elliott Vogler is assigned to East Wilkes High School in Ronda, North Carolina. Elliott is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the state of North Carolina.
Elliott is from East Bend, North Carolina. He graduated from Appalachian State in 2015 with his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. He also graduated from Western Carolina in 2020 with his Master’s degree in Sports Management.
Before coming to East Wilkes High School, Elliott worked at Emory & Henry College as an intern athletic trainer for one year. After leaving Emory & Henry College, he worked at Radford University as an intern athletic trainer for two years.

Head Athletic Trainer - Alleghany High School, Sparta, NC
Dakota Thompson is assigned to Alleghany High School in Sparta, North Carolina. Dakota is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina.
Dakota is from Mocksville, North Carolina. He graduated from Western Carolina University (WCU) in 2019 with his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. He is an active member of the North Carolina Athletic Trainer’s Association, as well as the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association since 2016. He has Participated in a 175 mile run for research led by a WCU Professor in effort to raise money for the National Athletic Training Association research foundation.
Once graduated from WCU, he was the head athletic trainer for White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC. He was contracted through a local Orthopedic practice for 1 year. It was there he learned the value of working within high school athletics, and how he could impact a local community. That is how he found himself ready to take on a high school that had never benefited from the services of an Athletic Trainer. A small town, with a lot of room to grow is what he has to look forward to.

Brittney Weisensel is assigned to North Wilkes High School in Hays, North Carolina. Brittney is a NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association, Board of Certification) certified athletic trainer, licensed by the state of North Carolina and Illinois.
Brittney is from Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Trinity International University in 2012 with her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Sports Administration in 2020.
Before coming to Wake Forest Baptist Health, Brittney worked for Athletico Physical therapy, where she was the athletic trainer for Rockford Christian High School in Rockford, Illinois for three years.
